Hey there, gorgeous! I just had to spill the tea about my experience at the Gs Gay Hotel in Taipei, a hotel exclusively for the gay community near Nanjing Sanmin MRT station. I mean, where else can you go to let loose and be yourself without judgment, am I right? And let me tell you, the Gs Gay Hotel is the perfect place to do just that!
Now, when I visited, the place was in its trial operation phase, so I can't guarantee that everything is still the same as it was. But let me tell you, this place was so new that even the upper floors weren't open yet! But that didn't stop me from blasting on the first three floors.
To get to the Gs Gay Hotel, just take Exit 3 of Nanjing Sanmin MRT Station and walk towards Maishuai Bridge for about ten minutes. When you get there, you'll see an entrance that doesn't look like a hotel at all. But trust me, the interior decoration is a whole different story! Once you're inside, you'll find a simple counter where they hand out wristbands for lockers, which you get to use for six hours and come with a large bath towel. And if you want to chill out in a room (overnight rooms weren't available yet during the trial period), you'll get another wristband for that. Just remember your locker and room numbers, because there aren't any numbers on the wristbands.
When you get to the second floor, you must take off your shoes and store them in a locker. But don't worry, your feet won't be bare for long! There are two locker areas; you just use your wristband to open your locker. Here, you should put all your belongings and clothes in the locker and lock them up. And if you're feeling a bit shy, you can use the large bath towel to cover yourself up. But if you're feeling bold, strut around in your birthday suit like you're in a public hot spring! It's all good!
Unlike hot springs like Chuan Tang, Huang Chi, or Huang Ding, where you can enter and exit freely, each floor of the Gs Gay Hotel(including the first floor) has several rooms that require a dedicated wristband to enter. And let me tell you, having your own private space without any interruptions is an absolute game-changer! And after the previous customer uses a room, the staff will clean it up before the next customer comes in. So you don't have to worry about any unsightly messes!

Now, let's talk about the shower rooms. Some shower rooms have transparent glass between two rooms, so you can peep on your neighbor - and they can peep on you! But if you're feeling a little more adventurous, head up to the third floor! There are two rooms with doors and showerheads, but there's no glass in the middle to separate them. So, yeah, you might want to bring a friend along for that one.
And if you're into steam rooms, a small one on the third floor can fit about ten people. It's not as steamy as the ones you'd find at hot spring hotels like Chuan Tang, Huang Chi, or Huang Ding, but it's steamy enough to get the party started! According to the introduction, there will be a large steam room and a massage pool on the fourth floor or higher in the future, as well as other facilities that may be available. But during the trial operation, I couldn't use them and could only wait and see.

It's an ideal choice if you're looking to connect with other gay travelers, and the hotel even features its own small sauna and steam room. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the local gay scene, and the hotel's location provides easy access to most gay bars and clubs in the city via the MRT. Gs Gay Hotel is highly popular and frequently booked among gay travelers during the Taipei gay pride 2023.
