Gay Sauna Tokyo

VOLCANO

Located in Kitashinjuku, there's a fantastic Tokyo gay sauna known as Muscular Haven. It's a place where the muscular hunks can feel right at home. While the crowd tends to be more selective, especially on weekends with young hunks, it's important to note that they prioritize a certain physique. If you don't fit that criteria, don't worry, there are plenty of other great places to explore. Inside, you'll find a dark zone featuring large rooms, private rooms, and even a room with a swing for some interesting fun. If you're planning to visit, Saturdays or Sundays before 6 p.m. are the best times to drop by and enjoy the experience.
Due to repeated violations of rules and etiquette, this venue has decided to deny entry to all foreign guests entirely. Update on October 19, 2025.

The BodyBreath is kind of a large gay sauna in Tokyo, which is located near Shinjuku 2-chrome, which is the largest of its kind in Tokyo. Only individuals aged between 20 and 40 years with short hair or a shaved head are allowed to enter. Foreigners are also welcome. The spot is popular among young and fit locals as well as Chinese visitors.
For travelers, tourist passports are available for 3 days, 5 days, or 1 week, which allows unlimited access during the specified period. The spot operates 24 hours a day and even offers accommodation options. This makes it a popular spot for people to visit at late night as well.

Shibuya physical warehouse is a popular cruising spot in Shibuya known for its vibrant gay sauna in Tokyo. It primarily appeals to a younger crowd with a slim fit and often hosts the swimwear event. typically up to 38 years old, and restricts entry to those who are overweight or have long hair. Notably, they do not require passport checks for entry. which means you have a chance if you are young or good-looking. An interesting thing is that they have a special area that you cannot even reject from somebody whatever they do. It's my first time hearing that from a gay sauna.

Unlike other gay sauna in Tokyo, people often come straight from their offices after finishing their business or work, resulting in a particularly crowded atmosphere during weekdays. Gay Onsen Tokyo

Hagoromo-yu Onsen
Cruising Ratio
Hagoromo-yu is a public bathhouse located in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo, which has been popular among the gay community in the past. However, it is not as boldly open as the famous gay onsen (hot spring) Konpira Onsen in Osaka, and the bathhouse management has faced some complaints over the years.
As a result, while Hagoromo-yu does attract many gay patrons, there is not a significant amount of overt sexual activity taking place. Visitors are expected to observe proper etiquette during their visit.
The operating hours are from 2 PM to 1:30 AM, with the bathhouse closed on Fridays. The bathing fee is 460 yen, and the combined sauna and bathing fee is 1,000 yen. Overnight stays are not permitted, and there are no specific restrictions on tattoos.
The facilities include a dry steam room, massage bath, indoor bath, and outdoor bath.

Daikokuyu (Closed)
Gayifiers recommended
Cruising Ratio
Daikuroyu is a historic public bathhouse located near Tokyo's Nakano Station. It is beloved by people of all ages, and due to its convenient location, it attracts a significant number of young, fit patrons, with a high proportion of attractive men. As closing time approaches, the number of gay visitors increases.
It is well-known as a popular gay bathhouse, with a reputation that even rivals the famous gay onsen (hot spring) Konpira Onsen in Osaka. However, the Daikuroyu facility is not very large, and the gay activity is limited to the upper level's sauna room, which only has 4 spaces. This means you often have to wait in line to access it.
The specific encounter possibilities depend not only on your luck, but also on your personal qualities and the other patrons present. So if you enjoy bathing and are interested in the prospect of exciting encounters, this could be a place to try, as the proportion of attractive men is often quite high.

Benten-yu
Cruising Ratio
Located in Shinjuku, Benten-yu is a traditional public bathhouse with 59 years of history. It may look ordinary from the outside, but the gay crowd here is surprisingly strong. Most visitors are muscled or mature men, giving the place a subtly flirtatious yet natural vibe — especially after 10 PM, when it gets the busiest.
One thing worth noting: Benten-yu is one of the few tattoo-friendly sento in Tokyo. Many local guys with tattoos come here regularly. That said, staff patrols quite frequently, so when it’s time to keep things low-key, it’s best to play smart. The bathhouse features five types of baths and two saunas, including a rare open-air bath. Opening hours are 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM, closed on Wednesdays (open on public holidays). Entrance is ¥520 for bath only, or ¥1000 with sauna access. Towel rental costs ¥10, and free soap and shampoo are provided.
For those hoping for a little extra excitement — make sure to visit on even-numbered days.
💡 Gayifiers Tip: On odd days, nothing happens — even if you meet someone cute, it’ll just be eye contact and pure bathing only.♨️

Thermae-Yu Shinjuku
Cruising Ratio
Located in Kabukicho, Shinjuku Natural Hot Spring is one of the largest and most well-equipped bathhouses in the Shinjuku area. Inside, you’ll find various hot spring baths, dry saunas, and steam rooms, along with a restaurant, rooftop bar, and even gym equipment — enough to keep you relaxed (and entertained) for an entire day. With its prime location and easy access, it’s always busy, whether on weekdays or weekends.
Right in the heart of Tokyo’s most vibrant gay district, the ratio of queer visitors is notably high, especially late at night when the steam room becomes the liveliest spot. The foreign crowd here is also huge, with many travelers coming specifically to check it out.
Although the facility technically requires guests with tattoos to cover them with stickers, most people only do it symbolically — and some with large tattoos don’t bother covering them at all. It’s easily one of the more tattoo-friendly major onsens in Tokyo. ♨️
