There are two paths to the left of the pond that lead down the hill; you can choose either. Both paths intersect with the main path, where you should turn right. This path extends for about half a mile and is popular for meeting others, especially at night, although some discreet activity occurs during the day. It's recommended to visit before dark to familiarize yourself with the area, as lighting conditions can vary.

Many people spend the entire night there, with night buses running every half hour from near Jack Straw's Castle. The first area you encounter is mixed with a younger crowd, making it a good starting point, especially on weekends. As you venture further along the path and into the Heath, the cruising activity intensifies.
